June 18, 2024: SSMUH rules added for eligible residential lots

· Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 2024, No. 5395

Chilliwack adopted Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 5395 on June 18, 2024 to implement small-scale multi-unit housing. The City says the rules permit a secondary suite in single-detached zones and up to 4 units on eligible single-detached or duplex lots larger than 280 m² within the urban growth boundary.

The City lists extension areas in Chilliwack Proper East and South, where the provincial timeline was different. Lot size, zone, boundary location and other exemptions still determine whether the allowance applies.
