July 15, 2025: Kamloops adds subdivision and tenure options for small-scale multi-unit housing

· Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 55-98, 2025

Council adopted Bylaw 55-98 to change zoning rules for subdivision and tenure, so owners and builders have more ways to create separate ownership arrangements for homes allowed under provincial small-scale multi-unit housing rules.

This amendment deals with subdivision and tenure choices. It does not make every lot eligible for every housing form. The zone, lot conditions, servicing and subdivision requirements still matter. Confirm the current proposal with the City of Kamloops.

May 27, 2025: 1898 Parkcrest Avenue rezoned for a proposed townhouse development

· Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 55-90

Council adopted a rezoning for 1898 Parkcrest Avenue to allow a proposed three-storey, 10-unit townhouse development. The applicant still needed a development permit, which would show the final design.

This change applies to the named property, not other lots in the surrounding neighbourhood. A rezoning establishes permitted uses and density; it does not itself approve construction plans.
