January 14, 2025: 4607 Princeton Avenue rezoned for a proposed 26-home project

· Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2333

Council adopted Bylaw 2333 to change 4607 Princeton Avenue from Rural Residential to Multi-Unit Residential – Medium Density, allowing a proposed development of up to 26 homes.

This is a property-specific rezoning. It changes the zoning for the named site only; the project still needs its applicable development approvals. Other Rural Residential properties keep their own zoning.

June 2024: Peachland updates residential zoning for small-scale multi-unit housing

· Zoning Amendment Bylaw 2422, 2024

In June 2024, Council adopted Bylaw 2422 to amend Zoning Bylaw 2400 for the Province’s small-scale multi-unit housing requirements. Peachland’s housing-needs report records the amendment as the City’s Bill 44 implementation.

The change revised regulations in existing residential zones, including R1 and RM2. The District separately discussed front setback and site-coverage adjustments before adoption, so use the adopted text and current schedule to confirm the final rule for your property.

Frequently asked questions

What did Peachland’s 2024 small-scale housing amendment do?

Bylaw 2422 amended the zoning bylaw to implement provincial small-scale multi-unit housing requirements. The change affected existing residential zones, including R1 and RM2, but the final zone schedule determines the rules for each parcel.

Does the amendment give every Peachland lot the same number of units?

No. The zone, lot conditions and other regulations set what forms and unit counts can fit. A unit allowance also does not guarantee a particular building form. Check the current bylaw and confirm with the District of Peachland.

How do I check my Peachland property?

Use the District’s zoning map to identify the parcel’s zone, then read its current schedule and general regulations in Zoning Bylaw No. 2400. Check the regulatory bylaw list for later amendments.

How does this timeline track changes?

It selects adopted amendments and rezonings supported by District reports, notices and council records. Use the current bylaw and property map for today’s rules; a notice or proposal alone does not establish an adopted change.
