March 9, 2026: New comprehensive zoning bylaw replaces the 1996 code
· City of Langley Zoning Bylaw, 2025, No. 3300
The City adopted Zoning Bylaw 3300 on March 9, 2026, replacing the former Zoning Bylaw 2100. The new code regulates land use, development and parking and is intended to carry out the City's Official Community Plan.
Older plans and property research may refer to provisions in the 1996 bylaw. Check the current zone map and Bylaw 3300 before relying on an old zone label or parking rule. A zone's permitted unit count does not by itself establish what form fits a site.
July 22, 2024: Plex-Home parking rules refined under Bill 44
· City of Langley Zoning Bylaw 2100, Amendment Bylaw No. 3289
Council gave Bylaw 3289 third and final reading on July 22, 2024, updating parking requirements for Plex-Homes after the City added Plex-Homes as a permitted use in RS1 and RS2 zones. The amendment set parking rules by unit floor area and removed minimum parking for qualifying lots near frequent bus service.
The parking rule did not require existing homeowners to alter their parking, and it did not prevent a future project from providing more spaces. The City adopted a comprehensive replacement bylaw in 2026, so consult Bylaw 3300 for the rules in force now.
