What the colours mean

Where these numbers come from

Parcel geometry and area come from ParcelMap BC. Civic addresses and zoning come from District records. Counts are calculated from Zoning Bylaw 4662 using the same rules as the full report.

Every figure on this map is a starting point, not a permit. Actual capacity for a given site depends on lot dimensions, corner and lane conditions, easements, and form of development. Run the address for the cited, per-lot answer.

Common questions

How many units can a West Vancouver residential lot hold?

The current bylaw permits three units in the listed RS house-and-suite zones, one unit in RS6, and three or four units in RD zones depending on the RD zone and lot area. Other residential zones do not state a simple maximum unit count.

Does the map count six units near bus stops?

Six units are allowed on lots over 280 m² within 400 m of a prescribed bus stop, which we cannot verify. Confirm with the District of West Vancouver.

Does Amendment Bylaw 5446 change these colours?

No. Amendment Bylaw 5446 received third reading on September 21, 2026 but is not adopted, so its proposed changes are not shown.
